The g+ app automatically syncs each time you open it on your phone. If you’d like to sync manually, simply swipe down from the top of the screen to refresh and check for new data. If your heart minutes are not syncing follow these troubleshooting steps.
In the g+ app go to More -> under resources tap on Help with Syncing and make sure you have the correct device linked and phone permissions are all enabled correctly to receive physical activity information.
If you’re using a Fitbit or another third-party device, your data syncs in stages. First, your wearable connects to its own companion app (like the Fitbit app). That data then flows through the device platform into Apple HealthKit, and from there into the g+ app. While this multi-step path may feel a bit indirect, it ensures your activity data transfers accurately and consistently into g+.
If you are not seeing new data from your linked fitness device, please ensure permissions have been enabled in your phone’s settings.
Follow the steps below for an iPhone setup:
1. Open the Health App
2. Tap on your profile picture (top right corner)
3. Under Privacy, tap Apps
4. Tap g+
5. Ensure all the toggles are green which allows the g+ app to read your health data
6. Open the g+ app and manually sync your device by pulling the screen down from the top of your phone.
Follow the steps below for an Android setup:
1. Open Health Connect (If you don’t have it, install it from the Play Store.)
2. Tap App permissions
3. Tap g+
4. Ensure all the permissions are turned ON which allows the g+ app to read your health data
5. Go back and open the Google Fit app to confirm your wearable is actively tracking data here
6. Open the g+ app and manually sync your device by pulling the screen down from the top of your phone.
Apple and Google health kits will now need you to start your workout on your watch to get more accurate heart rate and workout data. If you do not set a workout on your watch you run the risk of the workout not being recorded to the g+ app and receiving no heart minute data.
